Question Vista pc on a xp network

Hi all

i just finished setting up my desktop pc..now my desktop pc will have windows xp sp2 home..and my laptop has vista ultimate.,..is there a way to make these 2 pcs see each other on a network and comuacate with each other...

Piece of cake. See the second post and those that follow on the second thread linked here: http://www.vistababble.com/forums/ot....html#post9556. Getting XP set up is easier that Vista. But, just say so if you need XP help.

I have a similar issue. My network is an XP laptop and a Vista desktop, both of them are wireless. I haven't been able to get them to even share the printer (connected to the Vista PC) let alone anything else. I will work through the information that you all have provided and hopefully I will be able to figure it out.

(Also, both of our ITunes are able to see each other, so there is a connection of some sort. We just can't share files or printer.)

I would check the Network and Sharing Center in Control Panel and see what settings you have.

Be sure the printer is shared on the Vista PC via Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center. Also, be sure that you have added the printer on the XP machine. In this regard, you will need to install the printer's driver on the XP machine.
