When you go to that shutdown menu it comes up with sleep as the default option and not restart. You want to change the default to restart. I do not know how to make it the default for that list, but I know how to change the button in the start menu to it.

Go to Control Panel -> Power Options -> Change Plan Settings -> Change Advanced Power Settings -> Power Buttons and Lid -> Start Menu Power Button.

Then change the setting as you wish

Thnak you for your imput. I guess I am one of the few that when they shut down they dont want it to go to sleep they want it to restart.

I will just leave it as it is and change each time. There must be a reason they went from restart in 95,98 and xp to sleep in Vista.

If you go to vista gadgets site you will find a couple of gadgets just for that job I use CT control-mini its has a cover over it so you cant click by accident
