32-bit + 64-bit or Not on 1 Vista Disk?

Hi All:

For a long time, many of us thought that every Vista disk contained both 32-bit and 64-bit systems. Then, we learned that this idea is not correct if one buys Ultimate. In this regard, one gets both a 32-bit and a 64-bit disk. Still, some think that some disks come with both versions. I think the confusion arises because one has the right to both versions (used one at a time) if a version of Vista other than Ultimate is purchased, yet only one disk comes with such purchases. This read sorts thing out: http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/softwar...9273707,00.htm.

Some where I read in a MS post, if you want to get X64 and have x32 you can call MS then give the clerk your "KEY" , MS will ship to you a x64 version,
and only the Signature Versions were sent with both x32 and x64 disks.
you will be charged shipping and handling for the x64 version disk also.

That's right Snuffy. At least that's pretty much what the link I posted says. I think that MS does not charge for the disk, per se.

I really wish I could find that "original page" the very bottom stated something like " Order your copy now, this is a limited time offer and could be pulled at anytime!" Free I'm not sure, you can always hope...

Good Luck

Thanks Snuffster. You can go back and forth between the two installations, but not use both at the same time with only one key.
