A347SCSI SCSI Controller help!!!

heya ugys.. this is my 1st post.. i recently got a Windows Vista 5381 beta version.. and when i want to install it i keep getting this error:

You must make the following changes before installing Windows

Close Windows installation and contact the device manufacturer for updated driver software for these devices:

D347PRT SCSI Controller

i searched the web and it seems that error occurs with Alchol 120% .. i have deleted that and it didnt work and i then disabled the A347SCSI SCSI Controller via the device manager.. and that didnt seem to work..

I guess the obvious first question is:

Did you check with the manufacturer to see if they have an updated driver?

Could I ask if you have more than 1 hard drive? And whether you could install vista to a seperate partition as (frankly) you have an old build which will probably be quite buggy. You REALLY dont want 5481 as your only os!

Anyway to sort the problem...

I would suggest booting from the DVD and installing that way. I was under the impression you can still do 'upgrade' installs from boot, but if you cant I apologise. If you do boot from the disk you wont have issues with any xp problems as xp wont have been booted.

If none of this is viable (as you have 1 hard drive, 1 partition and no way to back up files) then post back and I will have a proper dig.
