| What is it exactly that you are trying to do? Vista comes in two version; 32 and 64 bit. If you want to install the 64 bit version on a PC that support the 64 bit architecture, you need a 64 bit version of Vista. The 32 version cannot be update to the 64 bit version; in other words, you'll have to do a clean installation. You can get more information here: Installation choices for 64-bit consumer versions of Windows Vista

| You need a copy of Vista with a 64 Bit version. You should be able to order one through the Microsoft site. You'll be charged postage and handling, but I'm not sure.

| A 64Bit CPU can calculate 64-bits of data at once, while the 32-bit can calculate 32-bit of data at once. However, that doesn't mean that a 64-bit sytems is faster than a 32-bit because it's also dependent on other factors as well, like applications and hardware. Why not a a 21-bit PC? Because computers architecture is measured in bytes and each byte has 8 bits. That's why you have 16, 32 or 64 Bit system and perhaps a 128 bit system in the horizon.

| For the most part, 64bit will run your 64Bit applications faster and can also run 32bit applications. There are still a few issues for 64Bit hardware support, more specifically drivers, though support has improved greatly. Also, most applications are built around a 32Bit architecture, which can be handled by a 32Bit OS just as fast as a 64Bit. If you play a lot of games and they are built around the 64Bit system, then you'll see some difference...there are some gamers here that can provide you with more info. Other than that, you'll hardly notice any difference between the two. If your PC is running fine with what you have, stick with the 32Bit...it might save you a few headaches...but that's my opinion though.
