Sorry, I'm unclear on what you mean by "still comes up as a standard video card". I'm not sure it would say something else. Do you mean that Vista still thinks it is not compatible?

I don't know the terminology or setup for Vista, but I assume he means that the video device is still being listed just as a generic video card, even after he installs the ATI drivers.
