| hi can anyone tell me how easy is it to roll back to windows xp? i curently have a hp pavilion dv2175 which was running media centre edition 2005. when i upgraded to vista i had to flash my bios. does anyone know if i install the recovery discs for media centre into the drive all will be ok or will i have to reflash my bios and how would you go about it. please help. |

| I'm sure the BIOS would not need to be RESET back...normally the new BIOS is/has added only to make sure VISTA is accepted... Many Toshiba's can not install Vista due to BIOS does not recognize Vista .

| Flashing your BIOS should not be an issue at all. When you install Vista, did you upgrade or did a clean installation? If you did a clean installation Vista created a windows.old folder to backup the previous Win XP installation. You can use that folder to reinstall Win XP exactly as it was before you installed Vista. Go here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932912/. |
