Help! Paragon Drive Manager 8

I used this program before to split my HDD into 2 partitions so i could install vista on one and xp on the other.. but im trying to do this again on the same drive (deleted the 2nd partition ages ago so theres just one again) but for some reason it wont work.. I did what i did before in paragon and told it to resize the current partition so i could add a 20gig partition for vista (same as i did before and it worked fine) so pargon restarts the pc and dose its stuff then restarts again and back into windows.... no 2nd partition.. no errors nothing to explain why it didnt do the job

Anyone here got any ideas as to whats going wrong?

Thanks

felix8406 will become famous soon enough

I am not familiar with Paragon, but it cannot be much different than partition magic. I'm deducting that you are running Windows XP? Did you try just one step at a time, i.e. reduced current partition size to accommodate the new partition, if that is successful, then create the new partition.

If you are using Vista, you could use its built in disk manager or you can use the Vista DVD as well.

Question what File system

Since Vista will no install on Fat32 but XP will . You might check both partitations for Fat32 or NTFS.. PQ Magic will convert back and forth, and I'm sure you have to have both partitions the same FS to merge back. Since you failed to mention..you might check.

Well you never can tell for sure.. glad ur not noob.
Like Felix noted. try using XP and shrink the partition..to as small as possible, then check "event viewer" to see if it shows any errors, Might give you a clue..
