Make sure all the right features are enabled in your Network and Security Center

Check out my reply and crabby's reply. Have you tried to add the printer in Vista?

It took forever to get the upgrade disks. I ordered them in early January and got them last week. I am happy with the upgrade though. Vista has some nice features and much nicer graphics. It also seem to run well -- aero included -- on my laptop with 1gb ram.

On the matter of finding the printer -- I do the search for available printers and Vista doesn't find the network printer. So I click on "The printer I want isn't lsited," and I am able to find the printer but when I attempt to add it I get "Windows cannot connect to the printer. Access denied."

I just did a Google search for "Windows cannot connect to the printer. Access Denied," and found in a forum exactly how to solve the issue:

Go to Control Panel. Choose printer. Then choose Add Printer.

ChooseAdd a local printer. Click on Create a new port. The default in the drop down box is Local Port. Do not change that. Click Next.

A dialogue box will appear asking for you to enter a port name. Type in the \\computer name\printer name ie. My computer's name is basement and the printer name is EpsonSty so I typed in \\basement\epsonsty

It worked!

Well, cool. I'll try it on my HP that I haven't been able to get to work on 64-bit.

Nvidia geforce go 6800 vista ??

Hi,

Can someone tell me how I can find a driver Nvidia Geforce go 6800 256 geheugen.

I have made a seperate boot for my Home xp and vista Ultimate.

But it only installs the default vga ???

Is there a solution for this? On the site of Nvidia I have not found a driver that works for me. Found 101.41_forceware_winvista_32bit_international 54 MB but when I try this it tells it does not confirm my hardware???

I have norton security installed is this the Problem??

Please any suggestions are very welcome

Kind Regards,

John

enough said.... I'd think, the newest and worse are many times related...due to some system difference... I'd simply let well enough alone and wait for the driver to be finalized and signed...

many times installing a BAD Driver causes more problems than you can imagine
and NVidia has been know to push things a bit...

I had the same issue (ChooseAdd a local printer. Click on Create a new port. The default in the drop down box is Local Port. Do not change that. Click Next.) and took your advice. It worked, thank you for the post. However, I cannot print to the the printer on the VISTA system from my XP-Home system!!! Any advice?
