So as of now, Microsoft is recommending 512MB of memory or more. Although, I've read Vista will be able to run on 128MB at a sacrifice of speed and performance, I've also heard recommendations of up to 2GB of memory! Holy DIMM-sticks! That's a lot of RAM. I remember when 32MB was considered revolutionary. Anyone running Vista on 128MB? 512MB? 2GB? Post your performance experience. |

| Indeed it will, Bing0, especially if users want the full effect of Aero. But I'm seeing more and more graphics card manufacturers getting ready for Vista, so an upgrade shouldn't be too big of a hassle. Nvidia, for example, has a long list of Vista ready cards. And of course, those who can't or don't want to upgrade, may have to settle for the un-cool non-Aero look and feel, but they'll still benefit from all the other Vista features.

| There is no way it will do anything but be a slideshow at 128 megs of ram. I tried to run Windows xp on 64 megs of ram and it as horrific. Dazzlin, my first computer had 16k of ram too. Was a Trs-80 color computer. I then upgraded to a an Apple II that had 64k of ram. The best part is when I bought the text display expansion card that doubled my memory to 128k. On top of that my display creen went from 40 columns wide to 80 columns wide. Talk about the power! |
