The things I suggested above are because even though the parts are the same, one of his may be damaged.

i did it, success (not yet i think i solve p[robelm) there are 3 error messages, thats why the Stop codes were diff if i restarted 3 times.


Took out 256Mb ram , removed 1 error
Took out sound card: Removed 2 errors
Took out modem remove 3 errors

Then ill be able to install VISTA, and if it doesnt work im trying the hard drive thingy a majigy. THIS HAS TO WORK! YES!!! I KNEW IT with snufy .chris, and crabbys help + other people on thevistaforums.com i knew i could do it. if it works i love you all, and want to kiss youa nbd give you a big hug (not physically, and im not gay, just for apreceacion)

OK just abou to do it, im at the part where the poc restarts after installing updates, ill reboot, boot into vista instead of my XP, and see what will happen wish me luck

FAILURE AGAIN, if the hdd thing does not work, it is a PIRATED copy, if it does then SUCCESS!! w00t w00t!, if its pirated ill go exhange and try again, if when i try again with new vista, still not working means my HDD is bad. and need to get new HDD, and if it does work, when i get new VISTA then SUCESS! but i dont know how it could be pirated, it has green part in middle saying includes any time upgrade, WIndows vIts ahome Premium Upgrade edition, and sais stuff, and oround the green is shiny stuff that sais Microsoft Geniuine, that is NOT PIRATED! or is it!

Yes, it could be PIRATED. The pirates are very good, today they even make pirate money that passes the PEN TEST... and that is very good BAD MONEY. Hell making Pirated MS products and holograms is almost as easy as making Vista OEM install Pirated, they had KEYGENs for XP beore XP was released.
The only thing is that over 90% of the PIRATED Vista DVD's have problems...
PS: The best Pirated DVD's came from UK, 2 was (Thailand) Asia, the cracks came for RUSSIA, and CHINA...

Now another story, did you use the same DVD to install your friends. If NO, then COPY is DVD at a very slow speed... like 2.4 or 3x NO FASTER... then use the COPIED DVD to install to your system..It is not ILLEGAL TO COPY THE DVD, it is only ILLEGAL to Pirate the KEY or Activation.
I do not use my ORIGIANAL DVD'S, I copy and use the copies...to install with.

that seems to take care of the 3 DEVICE problems..
another thing i forget to ask or if you said... did you FORMAT the HDD to NTFS.. Vista will not install on FAT32..or below...
pleawse forgive me if I ask the same question over... currently there are only 9 different ppl that I am trying to get VISTA installed...or Vista working correctly for them.... and NOT ONE COMPUTER IS CLOSE EVERY ONE IS AT LEAST 125 MILES AWAY.... and yes Canada, and UK are not the only countries that are having problems.. AU, HA, amoung others.
They busted one of the largest PIRATE DVD produces in CA just last week...
crackers, they say his stuff was excellent, right down to the curved plastic container..

Dang shap! i hope a dont got a pirated one, im scared, i just click format in the partition area, and it formats, then i click next is that NTFS? my only option to format that poartiotion when i do it on XPO is NTFS. if notin else works im goig to exhange the product, claiming IT IS A PIRATED ILLEGAL VERSION OF WINDOWS VISTA, that does an error that IS NOT supposed to DO!, then ill try with the new one, if it still sais error, then ill do HDD thing. I HOPE my version of WINDOWS is genuine REAL, and not PIRATED but how can Futureshop sell pirateed copys of vista? And if i copy the DVD like take all info on DVD then copy it on another DVD at slow speed, what difference will that make? It also sais its made in Peurto Rico

I doubt it is pirated. Because of where you purchased it from. But you never know! Just use your disk for the moment, and see if that works.

Basically even though you have the same PC as your mate, one of the components on his is damaged.

I know it sounds long winded, but jsut swap each component around til it works.
