Question quick graphics card question

just wondering if anyone can tell me why my new radion x1300 512 meg graphics card is rated at 3.8 in windows experiance index while my old nvidia 6600 256 meg was rated at 4.1? seems strange since the nvidia only has 64meg onboard and shares the rest with system memory.

I agree; the result seems strange. While the concept is good in some respects, it is unclear how accurate the individual component indexes are. Anyway, the reason for the "descrepancy" is unclear to me.

I had NVidia FX5500 it was rated at 2.6, upgraded to the new GeForce 7300GS, and it is only 2.6 rated... very unhappy. lots of money and no better performance. In fact the 7300GS failed the NVidia test on the NVidia Site... while the FX 5500 had 3 of 6 on the same test...have reverted back to the WDDM drivers, started having problems with the NVidia Drivers. v100.65

Thumbs down Anybody else with problems like this

Major problems still with new 7300GS card, I think, every time I open a window it opens in a small frame about 9" x 7" and mostly the folders start in LIST ( I prefer tiles) I have reset to default - yes every thing returns to default but when I set to my preference.. nothing opens the same I get a mixed bag of what ever ... on settings... gads this is very FUSTRATING.
I'm sure it is the Video Card, not Vista.. but who knows.
I am about ready to Dual boot back to XP.. and see if it fails with the new system..
This is with a CLEAN Install and all Vista Upgrades, and using NVidia 97.46 drivers. Every test I have or know about checks AOK.. only the MS Experience fails, and Video problems setting on windows.

How about trying the earlier driver again? I was using 97.46 on my 7600, and it worked great. I think our cards use the same driver. I have a card upgrade story that I will be sharing soon. But, my results are good except on one dimension. I am sorry you are having so many problems. One sort of expects joy and sometimes gets yuk. I am for you, but, hey, the cancer is gone.

Yes, back to clean install and v97.46 for the 7300GS card.
only time experience works is on first install, and that makes the 7300GS only on VGA 800x600, then MS downloads upgrades again, and I get a ! New hardward detected your Windows Experience need refreshed... I click refresh and it goes about 99% then fails.
and the GRAPHICS is 2.6 everything else is higher...
I'm going to uninstall it and then let Vista find again and see what...

Question Might be Vista and Not the 7300GS

Ran tests all day yesterday trying to find the problem... I'm starting to think it is VISTA.
Apparently it is Vista and not the Video card...Drivers v 97.46
PassMark gives 253.8 on 2D Graphics,
--------------------59.8 on 3D Graphics.
On boot up this morning using Event Viewer there are NO ERRORS.. noted.
Let it be Noted: Other than the Performance Experience I have not had any problems... that I know off.
Minus the annoying problem of the windows, folders and files never opening the same..

I am glad it is getting better and that my suggestion helped. I wonder what's with Vista.

Desided to look at the HACK (how to make performance better) and here is where you can find the error.
