Yes, i went through all that and I paid the $9.95US fee. I did also read the part that saids, "Also, please note that in accordance with industry practices, the operating system license that you purchased grants you the right to install one copy of Windows Vista on one PC. By ordering this additional set of media, you do not receive any additional license rights. This offer may only be available for a limited time."

I just don't get (or want to get) the meaning of any additional rights. Is it that I cannot take the additional set of media and isntall it on a different PC other than where the 32 is installed, or that by ordering that media it doesn't give the right to install it on more than one PC?
Assuming I understand your circumstances correctly, I think that MS is saying, consistently with the Vista EULA, that one cannot have both the 32-bit version and the 64-bit version installed at the same time.

Are you saying that in my case, I cannot have both, the 32 and 64 bit version installed at the same time, or is that a general state met? There reason I ask is because anyone can run both versions, at the same time, if they have the product keys for both, by dualbooting.

In my case, I was just wondering if MS is going to attached my 32-bit product key to the 64-bit version that I order. If that's the case, I'll be able to install just one version only. But I'm not sure of that either, because even if it's just one key for both, the 32 and 64, I may be able to install both versions on different hard drives and dualboot. Not that I wouldn't want that hassle though, since I only need one OS.

Cool Walmart Special Buy 1 (x86) get 1 Free (x64)

My understanding of additional rights is a NEW KEY.. you have to use the same KEY for either x86 or x64. 1 KEY is all you get unless you want to PAY FULL RETAIL cost for additional License..
Recommendation is at this time: every body that only has a x86 copy order your x64 copy, the only cost is S&H.. and the offer for the x64 could be pulled at any time, and therefore cost you $$$$ for a x64 version.

But what do I know...I only use this stuff..hehehe
Blue Lite Spe cial

Buy 1 copy of Vista Ultimate upgrade ( avg cost) $230.00 to 260.00
1 additional Home Premium Key 49.00 (Family Discount)
2 additional Home Premium Key 49.00 (Family Discount)

total 328.00 to 358.00 plus tax

And, you should be able to do a clean install with an upgrade version--at least that is what we keep saying. See snip for options given that you can do a clean install with the disk you have.

Snuffy, I'm glad you posted this because for some reason I kept thinking that just the full version of Ultimate qualified for the program. But you are correct, the upgrade Version qualifies as well...I just checked it out.

What I'm not sure though is if upgrading Business or Home Premium to Ultimate, and then using Ultimate to purchase the two additional Home Premium will suffice. Any thoughts?

Sorry to get back to you so late. The stars are always letting me down. But, I think Snuffy got it right. Below is what the EULA says assuming you have only one key (i.e., even if you have both a 32-bit disk and a 64-bit disk--as I understand things). Of course, if you have two keys, then you can run one 32-bit and one 64-bit. My reading of your situation is that you would end up with two disks, but only one key. I hope that you somehow end up with two keys though. If I understand, then the second would only cost you $9.95--which doesn't seem right somehow. Please correct me if I got the $9.95 part wrong.

1 KEY = 1 Version

Well, I finally am back online... what a time...many things went wrong. but
I'm here - had to CLEAN install on C: to get back..online with the new system.

Answer to your question: Legally, if you want to install x64 you will have to use the same KEY that you use for x86. Remember MS told me that Windows Live Email was not actually Vista approved, and she stated it told when I check email...so I assume that MS will know if you are using 2 different versions with the same "KEY".. Illegal. If you want to run both x86 and x64 in Dual Boot, you legally should own 2 "KEYs".. very expensive. and too order a x64 Version for "FREE" or S&H only, you have to supply MS with a "KEY".
