Thumbs up

Well, I finally admitted defeat and took my machine to be fixed at a local IT shop.
They tell me that the motherboard was damaged, and have replaced it. The good news is they also have managed to get Vista working and activated for me so, I guess I will be back where I started, one machine, 2 drives, XP and Vista, oh and an iMac 20".

Now I have to choose between systems, it might be quite a pain to keep 3 OS up to date, but the iMac seems quite easy so far.
Perhaps I can replace my wife's PC with the one i am getting back from the repair!

I am not yet clear on how they managed to re-instate Vista, I will ask them when I pick it up.
