Can you tell us what the number of the update is? Go to Windows Update > View update history > Right-click the update and select view details. I have an NVidia chipset and built-in graphics card but did not find that update you mentioned.

NVidia has a Release, which is average like 30/50 MB. but not Microsoft. is that the one you mean...

• Enabling inverse telecine results in an increase in dropped frames on high bit-rate
1080p VC-1 titles.[302992]
• The NVIDIA Control Panel may take up to one minute to open when accessed the
first time after restarting the system. [329376]
In subsequent uses of the NVIDIA Control Panel, it will open immediately.
• Custom application profiles and changes to the default application profile settings
are not saved across system reboots. [331330]
• The display is corrupt or there is no display upon resume from sleep mode.

Sept 20, 2007 was when NVidia released the 158.24 Driver and MS approved them for (WDDM). All this did was patch many of the problems NVidia was having with Vista.
