It's not like we r stilling the software since it needs the key to be installed. I did install it but didn’t see any difference yet from previous built. Performance score is the same. I did an upgrade instead of a clean install to see how it behaves. Later on I'll do a clean install and see what happens.

Got my copy last night. had problems installing from the DVD, so I copied it to the hard drive and ran the setupo from there....no problems. Jim

Microsoft suggested to burn the DVD copy at the slowest speed possible to maitain the quality. I burnt mine at 4X and it worked fine.

They suggested this because they realise many people purchase poor quality media. For eveyone out there... burn the DVD at the highest 'certified' speed for your media. All my DVD-R's are 'certified' 16X with a 0.01% error occurence per disk so I always burn at that and have never had an issue.

I compared, and using the Download Manager is much, much, much faster.

I tried using the download manager and kept getting a server error. I downloaded it through the browser, took one hour. It worked well.

Unhappy installing rc1

Downlaoded vista RC-1 using akamai as suggested by MS. It downlaoded all 2.52 Gb but now cannot find the file on my computer. looked where it said it downlaoded as well as searching whole c Drive. What am i doing wrong?
