vctcv, r u running vista? If u have more than one user accounts active, u might want to check the download folder for each user. Also, do a search of "vista_5600.16384.060829-2230_x86fre_client-lr1cfre_en_dvd". Hope this help.

I would start the download again and observe carefully where the file is going to be placed. Then, I'd look there for the original download. If it's not there, then let the new download continue if you still want RC1.

I finally received the email to download vista. I did ordered a DVD kit for Beta 2 when it first came out ($10) so so according to the enail I you will receive a new DVD kit containing RC1 in approximately 2-4 weeks.

How exceptionally useful of them! We've all had RC1 for atleast a week :P Are the DVD packs nice? As in does the DVD have a lovely cover? Else its probably rather pointless for you now no?

Yes, I got my letter too and will receive the DVD pack because "my wife ordered it." I wanted to get started quickly so "I" downloaded. For those who have not received letters yet and are wondering about product keys, your keys will be included in your letters.

The product key included is the same as the one being used for beta 2. When I get the DVD pack I'll do a clean isntall and see if there were any errors when I downloaded it a few days ago...that's the only thing I can think of that I can do with the DVD pack.

Right, I meant to say original keys above. I don't blame you for wanting to have a clean system, but, boy all that software installing, etc., is too much for me. Same with car detailing.

I really don't install much software on the Vista partition; Office 2007, recording software and a few other stuff. I have two HD installed...one dedicated for Vista the other for WinXP. My main and most important programs are on the WinXP side, with a partition dedicated for files and data. The files and data are also backup to an external drive just in case. The data and files on the HD can also be access through Vista or WinXP, so it works well. Once I get the final version of Vista, I'll stop doing many clean install though.
