Prior to install ... turn off AV...(sorry but needed) and turnoff any problem that auto checks for Malware, viris, trojans or having your system edited... you can even turn off the Internet..turn off the Firewall...

Then try to install...

mb. About all I can think of for you to try is a clean install. If you want to give it a try, then post back.

first? did you run Vistaupgrade advisor? It will tell you many programs that will fail... uninstall all of them.... the error you showed is a unsigned driver, from a program that will not work in VISTA....
2nd. Run upgrade advisor and uninstall all the bad(going to fail) programs...
then try again...
Hopefully you can get by the BIOS settings!!!

Search on IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pro...a/default.mspx. Lots of possibilities come up.

Your manual should tell you how to get into your BIOS settings, and where Caching and/or shadowing are... find them turn off then F10 is exit and save.
makes the system a bit slower.. but Vista does not like caching or shadows in the BIOS.

Did you run Vista ugrade advisor..???

felix8406 will become famous soon enough

The issue has to do with a rigister setting. You can try running a rigister fix software. I use AdvancedWindows Care, which you can download for free from http://iobit.com/AdvancedWindowsCarePersonal/index.html or someone here may suggest any other utility to fix register issues.
